floppy brims
The past 4 years has been about small brimmed fedoras and these will continue to be in fashion but for the fashionistas out there, the pendulum is swinging back to bigger brims. For summer 2011 I have added big brimmed safari to my collection and I intend to add even more big brimmed styles to my fall 2011 collection which I started work on last week.
In addition to safari brims the floppy "boho" style is very popular in Europe. I love this style for styling photo shots but an-over-floppy brim can be difficult to wear. I am keeping my brims to under 4" and adding a stitch line to the outer brim for a little support. If you own a hat that is a little too floppy just pin it up with a flower or old brooch or if it is a felt hat, simply take a scissors to the outer brim.
